Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel Commander Deck Guide (Reality Fracture)

Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel is a Spirit Dragon that reimagines the classic Niv-Mizzet "draw = damage" loop as an Orzhov (W/B) lifegain engine. Here's the build.

Reading the Commander

For {2}{W}{W}{B}{B} you get a flyer with:

• - Whenever you gain life, you may pay that much life. If you do, draw that many cards.
• - {T}: Each opponent loses 1 life and you gain 1 life.

Every lifegain trigger becomes a draw-that-many (paying the life back, so it's life-neutral), and Niv's tap ability both drains the table *and* feeds the draw engine. Lifegain decks finally get a card-advantage payoff that also wins the game.

The Game Plan

You're an Orzhov lifegain-into-cards deck: trigger lifegain repeatedly, convert it into cards, and drain opponents out with Niv's tap ability and death-loss payoffs. Sturdy, grindy, and hard to race.

• - Repeatable lifegain: Soul Warden, Blood Artist, Cleric-tribal gainers, and lifelink beaters — each one draws you cards through Niv.
• - Drain payoffs: Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Sanguine Bond / Exquisite Blood, and the like, so lifegain also drains.
• - Card conversion: Niv is your engine, but back him with a couple more draw outlets.
• - Reality Fracture synergy: Lyra, Archangel of Dawn (lifegain → counters), Ob Nixilis, the Ascended, and Enlightened Confidant all reward gaining life.
