Pick your mana colours, a playstyle (Aggro, Control, Combo, Tokens, and more), and a budget. Tapped Decks builds a complete 100-card Commander deck — commander, mana base, ramp, removal, and synergy cards — in under a minute, along with a written strategy guide explaining why each card is there. You can then edit any slot, swap cards, and save it.

Yes. Upload or paste your collection and Tapped Decks can build a Commander deck using only the cards you have, or prioritise them and fill the gaps. It reads collection exports from Moxfield, Archidekt, ManaBox, Deckbox, TCGPlayer, and any standard Name + quantity CSV, so you can turn a shoebox of cards into a playable deck without buying anything new. Large collections import fine — the file is parsed in your browser and uploaded in chunks with a progress bar.

This was a bug on some Android phones when you picked a CSV straight from Google Drive or another cloud app: leaving the browser to choose the file could reset the page, so it looked like nothing imported. It's now fixed. If you ever hit anything similar, two reliable workarounds: use the "Paste a list" tab instead of "Upload CSV" (open your export, copy everything, and paste it in), or download the CSV to your phone first and then upload it from your device rather than from a cloud app. Your collection isn't charged or changed by a failed upload, so it's always safe to try again.

Yes. The manual builder lets you search for any card, add cards one at a time, import a text decklist, and customise every slot. You can also start from an AI-generated deck and tweak it from there. During our launch preview it's free for every signed-in player; once paid plans go live it becomes part of the Builder plan.

The AI builder focuses on Commander (EDH) — 100-card singleton decks. The manual builder and community features also support Standard, Modern, Pioneer, Legacy, Vintage, Pauper, and Casual.

Every card the builder suggests is validated against your commander's colour identity, so it will never put an illegal card in your deck. It also respects partner and background commanders, pairing them automatically when you choose that path.

Yes — the AI deck tools are genuinely useful but not perfect, and we're still in early access. They can misjudge a card, misread how a combo works, rate something too high or too low for your build, or occasionally suggest a card that doesn't fit your plan. Card legality is always checked so it won't add an illegal or off-colour card, but the judgement calls are just that — a strong starting point to review, not a final verdict. If something looks wrong, use the thumbs up / down "How did we do?" prompt shown after a build or an upgrade, or email support@tappeddecks.com. We read every report and fix what we reasonably can.

From the deck results page you can export to TCGPlayer (adds the whole 100-card list to your cart in one click, with an option to buy only the cards you don't already own), copy the decklist as plain text for Moxfield, Archidekt, or MTGO, download a print-ready proxy PDF (a 3×3, US-Letter sheet laid out for home printing), or publish it to the Tapped Decks community.

After building or editing, click Save and name the deck. It appears on your My Decks page, where you can rename, duplicate, edit, share, publish, or delete it anytime. Saved decks are never deleted, even if you change or cancel your plan.

Yes. On My Decks, open the three-dot menu on any deck and choose Duplicate. This creates an editable copy so you can experiment without changing the original.

Yes. Go to My Decks and choose Import, then paste a decklist (Moxfield, Archidekt, MTGO, or plain "1 Card Name" lines all work). It's parsed into a saved deck you can edit, playtest, upgrade, publish, or export like any other — a fast way to bring existing decks into Tapped Decks.

No. A monthly build (or upgrade) is only counted when a deck actually finishes and is delivered. If a build errors out, times out, or you close the tab mid-way, nothing is deducted from your allowance and you can simply try again. If you ever think a build was counted unfairly, email support@tappeddecks.com and we'll make it right.

Yes. The whole site — building, editing, browsing commanders, the playtester, and your account — works in a mobile browser, no app to install. If you're importing a collection on a phone, the "Paste a list" tab is the most reliable option, though uploading a CSV from your device works too.

Yes. Tapped Decks pulls live card data and images from Scryfall, so new cards become available to build with as soon as they are added to Scryfall's database — usually during each set's spoiler season. That covers both in-universe Magic sets and Universes Beyond crossovers like Marvel and Star Trek.

As of August 2026 the newest released set is The Hobbit (August 14, 2026), Magic's first Standard-legal Tolkien set, led by commanders like Thranduil, Smaug, Beorn, and Bard. The next releases are Reality Fracture on October 2, 2026 and Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek on November 13, 2026, which closes out the year. Cards from each set become buildable on Tapped Decks as soon as they're added to Scryfall.

Yes. The Hobbit (released August 14, 2026) is fully live on Tapped Decks — you can build around Thranduil, Smaug, Beorn, Bard, and every other legend from the set right now. For upcoming Universes Beyond sets such as Magic × Star Trek (November 13, 2026), the legendary creatures become buildable commanders as they're spoiled, and our blog publishes set guides and deck ideas for each release.

The Tapped Decks blog covers the MTG release calendar, set spoilers, and Commander deck ideas for each upcoming set. We update it as Wizards of the Coast confirms new products, mechanics, and dates.

At MagicCon Amsterdam (July 17–19, 2026), Wizards of the Coast spoiled Reality Fracture — releasing October 2, 2026, a planeswalker-dense "superfriends" set that pulls alternate-reality versions of the Multiverse's planeswalkers into one expansion, with the returning Prepared mechanic and the new Exhaust keyword — revealed the full 2027 in-universe set roadmap, and announced new Secret Lair drops including a Stardew Valley crossover plus a Mystery Booster: Commander Edition. The 2027 in-universe Magic sets revealed at MagicCon Amsterdam are Nauctus, the Sunken Realm — Magic's first fully underwater plane — on February 5, 2027; Kamigawa: Titanbreach, a Kamigawa and Ikoria collision, on June 4, 2027; and a return to Zhalfir on October 1, 2027. Three Universes Beyond crossover sets are also planned for 2027 but not yet revealed. As each set's legendary creatures are spoiled, they become buildable commanders on Tapped Decks.

Commander uses an official five-bracket system to describe deck power. Bracket 1 (Exhibition) and Bracket 2 (Core) are casual and precon-level; Bracket 3 (Upgraded) is tuned mid-power; Bracket 4 (Optimized) is high-power; and Bracket 5 is cEDH (fully competitive). Each bracket is anchored to how quickly a deck expects to win rather than a strict card list. On Tapped Decks you can target a bracket when you build, and the AI keeps the deck's power in line with it.

Game Changers are a curated list of the format's most powerful, game-warping cards — such as Rhystic Study, Cyclonic Rift, Smothering Tithe, and fast mana like Mana Crypt. As of the February 9, 2026 update the list holds 53 cards. They are the one hard restriction in the bracket system: none are allowed in Brackets 1-2, up to three are allowed in Bracket 3, and any number are allowed in Brackets 4-5.

Most Commander decks run 36-38 lands plus 10-12 ramp sources. Aggressive, low-curve decks can drop to 33-35 lands, while big-mana or battlecruiser decks want 38-40. Tapped Decks calculates the right land count and color fixing for your commander's colors and mana curve automatically.

A card's color identity is every colored mana symbol in its mana cost and rules text, plus any color indicator. Your commander sets your deck's color identity, and every card in the deck must fall within it. Tapped Decks validates color identity on every card it suggests, so it never puts an illegal card in your deck.

Three tiers. Free: 1 AI deck build a month (which you can also spend on AI deck completion — uploading an unfinished list and letting the AI finish it), plus TCGPlayer export and full community access; the full AI deck-upgrade tool for a deck you've already built is Builder and Commander only. Builder ($2.49/mo): 10 AI deck builds or upgrades a month (builds and upgrades share the same pool), the manual builder, deck-list import, EDHREC synergy data, per-card upgrades, the art-version browser, and saved decks. Commander ($4.99/mo): everything in Builder plus unlimited deck builds and upgrades, unlimited rebuilds and per-card tweaks, priority email support, and early access to new sets and features. Prepaid quarterly, 6-month, and annual plans save up to 28%.

Founder pricing (Builder $1.74/mo, Commander $3.99/mo) was our early-adopter rate for the first members who joined. It's now closed to new signups — new members pay our standard pricing (Builder $2.49/mo, Commander $4.99/mo, or a discounted prepaid plan). Every founding member who already locked it in keeps their founder price for life, for as long as their subscription stays active.

Yes. The Free plan lets you build one Commander deck a month, browse the full commander library, read every strategy guide, use the playtester, and export to TCGPlayer — no credit card required. Your monthly build can also be spent on AI deck completion: upload an unfinished list and the AI fills it to 100, reviews it, and suggests fixes. The full AI deck-upgrade tool for a deck you've already finished (a review plus tailored swaps) is part of Builder and Commander.

The full AI deck-upgrade flow — a review, card-by-card ratings, and tailored swaps for a deck you've already built — is a Builder and Commander feature. But if your deck isn't finished, Free members can use AI deck completion: upload your partial list and the AI fills the missing cards, reviews the result, and suggests replacements for the cards you already have. That counts as your monthly build. On Builder, upgrades, builds and completions share the same 10-a-month pool (each counts as one); on Commander everything is unlimited.

Yes — it's called AI deck completion. On the Upgrade page, upload a partial decklist (anything under 100 cards) and choose "Complete My Deck with AI." It reads your commander, your existing cards, and your strategy, fills the empty slots within your colour identity (and an optional budget), reviews the finished deck, and suggests replacements for any of your own cards that don't pull their weight. It's available on every plan and counts as one of your monthly builds.

Yes. You can earn bonus builds by leaving a review, completing your profile, and importing a collection. These grants are added on top of your monthly allowance, and — because builds and deck upgrades share one pool — you can spend them on either (deck upgrades require Builder or Commander).

Yes. Cancel from the billing section of your profile. You keep access through the end of the current billing period, and your saved decks, community posts, and profile stay intact.

Yes. Builder and Commander are monthly subscriptions that renew automatically each month at your plan's price until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from the billing section of your account, and you'll keep access through the end of the period you've already paid for. Founder pricing stays locked in for as long as your subscription remains active.

Except where required by law, subscription payments are non-refundable, including for partial billing periods — because you keep full access until the end of any period you've paid for, cancelling simply stops the next renewal. If you're a consumer in the UK or EU you may have a statutory cooling-off right; see our Terms, or email support@tappeddecks.com and we'll help.

We don't cut you off immediately. If a renewal charge fails, Stripe retries it over a few days and you keep your plan's access during that window while you update your card. If it ultimately can't be collected, the subscription ends and your account returns to the Free plan — your saved decks and account are never deleted.

Nothing is lost. All saved decks, community posts, and profile data remain. Downgrading returns you to the Free monthly build limit — you'd lose the full AI deck-upgrade tool for already-built decks (Free can still build a deck and use AI deck completion on an unfinished list), but your saved decks and account stay intact.

All of them. Publishing, sharing, copying, commenting, and voting on decks are free on every plan, including the Free tier — none of the community features require a paid subscription. You only need a (free) account to post, comment, or vote, which keeps the community spam-free.

Open the three-dot menu on any saved deck in My Decks and choose Publish to Community, or grab a Share Link. The same menu lets you unpublish at any time. Published decks show your commander, colours, price, and themes in the community browser.

Yes. When viewing any community deck you can copy it to your own collection as a private, editable copy. The original is unaffected, and this works on every plan.

Yes. Any signed-in user can leave comments on community decks to give feedback or ask questions — it's free on every plan.

Upvote decks you like in the community browser, and the top-rated decks rise to the top when you sort by popularity. Voting is free for any signed-in user.

The built-in playtester lets you goldfish any saved deck directly in your browser — draw cards, play lands, cast spells, make tokens, and track life and commander tax. It includes tap/untap mechanics, multiple playmat themes, and sound effects. No download needed.

VS AI pits your deck against one of five preset AI opponents. A fast heuristic engine makes decisions based on board state and card advantage, sharpened by an optional Claude strategic adviser when it's available. It's a much better test of a deck than goldfishing against an empty board.

Your username is set during signup. Contact support@tappeddecks.com if you need it changed.

Yes, and you can do it yourself. Go to your account page, open the "Your data & privacy" section, and choose Delete account (you'll re-enter your password to confirm). This permanently removes your account and all associated data, and cancels any active subscription. If you'd rather we handle it, email support@tappeddecks.com.

Yes. On your account page, under "Your data & privacy," click "Export my data" to download a JSON file with your decks, comments, reviews, collection, subscription, and profile — no need to email us. This supports your GDPR/CCPA data-access rights.

No. Tapped Decks is an independent, unofficial tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed, sponsored, or approved by Wizards of the Coast. Magic: The Gathering and all related names and images are trademarks of Wizards of the Coast LLC. We use Magic content under WotC's Fan Content Policy, and card data and images come from Scryfall. The tool helps you build and learn — it isn't a place to buy cards.
