Ghalta the Unstoppable Commander Deck Guide (Reality Fracture)

A mono-green stompy build guide for Ghalta the Unstoppable from Reality Fracture — how the cost-reduction dinosaur works, the big-creatures game plan, the deck skeleton, and how to win.

Ghalta the Unstoppable is the newest, biggest Ghalta — a mono-green Elder Dinosaur that gets cheaper the more power you have on board and hands your whole team trample. It's the poster child for mono-green stompy. Here's the build.

Reading the Commander

For {8}{G} — but with a huge discount — you get:

  • - This spell costs {X} less to cast, where X is the greatest power among creatures you control. Land a big creature first and Ghalta can cost just {G}.
  • - Trample.
  • - Other creatures you control have trample.

So Ghalta is cheap once your board is going, and she turns every fatty you have into a trampling threat that ignores chump blockers.

The Game Plan

You're mono-green stompy: ramp early, drop huge creatures, discount Ghalta off their power, and swing with a trampling team. Simple, fast, and resilient — mono-green has the best ramp in the game.

Core Package

  • - Explosive ramp: mana dorks (Llanowar Elves, Elvish Mystic), Sol Ring, and land ramp to power out threats a turn early.
  • - Big creatures with power: the bigger your board's top power, the cheaper Ghalta — prioritise efficient fatties.
  • - Trample payoffs / pump: with team-wide trample, +X/+X effects (Overwhelming Stampede, Craterhoof Behemoth) become lethal.
  • - Protection: Heroic Intervention, Blossoming Defense, Vines of Vastwood to protect your threats through removal.

The Skeleton

Follow the Commander deck template, tuned mono-green stompy:

  • - 1 Ghalta the Unstoppable
  • - 35–36 lands (a low-ish count is fine with heavy ramp)
  • - 12–14 ramp — dorks and rocks, front-loaded
  • - 8 removal (green fights and bites; add Beast Within, Return to Nature)
  • - 12+ big creatures
  • - 3–4 overrun / trample-pump finishers

How You Win

Green stompy wins in the red zone: a wide board of fatties with trample, then an overrun effect (Craterhoof Behemoth, Overwhelming Stampede) for lethal. Ghalta granting team trample means even chump-heavy tables can't survive the alpha strike. Keep a clear win condition — a finisher, not just big bodies.
