Avacyn, Angel of Horror Commander Deck Guide (Reality Fracture)

Avacyn, Angel of Horror is Reality Fracture's dark reimagining of the archangel — a mono-black recursion engine that turns your dying creatures into a resource. She's the perfect head for an aristocrats deck. Here's the build.

Reading the Commander

For {5}{B}{B}{B} you get a flying, deathtouch Angel with a devastating passive:

• - Whenever Avacyn or another nontoken creature you control dies, return that card to the battlefield under your control at the beginning of the next end step.

Your nontoken creatures don't stay dead — they come right back. That means you can sacrifice them freely, block without fear, and reuse every enters- and leaves-the-battlefield trigger you own.

The Game Plan

You're a mono-black aristocrats deck: sacrifice your own creatures for value, drain the table with death triggers, and let Avacyn recur everything at end of step. Sac, profit, get it back, repeat.

A Note on Tokens

Avacyn only returns nontoken creatures, so token generators still fuel your sac outlets and drains — they just don't come back. That's a feature: make tokens to sacrifice, keep your real creatures recurring.

The classic aristocrats kill is a sacrifice loop + a drain payoff (Blood Artist effects turning repeated deaths into lethal), backed by Gray Merchant drains or a big X-spell. Keep a real win condition in the deck so the engine actually closes.
