Jace, Multiverse Architect Commander Deck Guide (Reality Fracture)

A complete build guide for Jace, Multiverse Architect — the only planeswalker in Reality Fracture that can be your commander. His abilities, the four-color superfriends game plan, the deck skeleton, and how to win.
Jace, Multiverse Architect is the flagship commander of Reality Fracture — and the only planeswalker in the set that can legally helm a deck (its text reads "Jace, Multiverse Architect can be your commander"). At {1}{W}{U}{B}{R} he anchors a four-color superfriends deck. Here's how to build and pilot him.
Reading the Commander
Jace, Multiverse Architect does three things from the command zone:
- - Passive: at the beginning of combat on each opponent's turn, they must pay {2} or their creatures can't attack your Jaces that turn. Built-in protection for your whole planeswalker board.
- - [+1]: draw two cards, then put a card from your hand on the bottom of your library. Card advantage plus card selection every turn.
- - [−3]: exile one of your own creatures or planeswalkers, then dig from the top of your library until you hit a creature or planeswalker and put it onto the battlefield. A tempo and value swing that "upgrades" a small permanent into a bigger one.
He's not a fast clock — he's a card-advantage and protection engine that grinds the table out.
The Game Plan
You're playing four-color superfriends: resolve cheap planeswalkers, protect them, snowball loyalty with Empower and proliferate, and win with ultimates or a giant Jace token. Jace himself keeps your hand full and your board safe while the engine assembles.
Core Package
- - Cheap planeswalkers: the set's compressed Chandra, Ajani, Garruk, Liliana, and Jace variants (The Theorist, Jace Beleren; Chandra, Chill of Compliance; Ajani Resolute; Garruk, Veiled Butcher; etc.).
- - Empower payoffs: the "Way of the ___" enchantment cycle, Sanctum Lurker, Theorist's Proxy, Jace's Machinations — all grow a shared Jace token that surveils and draws.
- - Proliferate: Flux Channeler, Evolution Sage, Karn's Bastion, and Tam-style effects to copy every loyalty counter.
- - Protection / pillowfort: Tomik, Orzhov Lawmage; Ghostly Prison; Propaganda; Gideon's Memorial; fogs.
The Skeleton
Follow the Commander deck template, tuned for four colors and 'walkers:
- - 1 Jace, Multiverse Architect (command zone)
- - 37–38 lands — heavy WUBR fixing: the Turbulent duals, shock/triome-style lands, fetches, rainbow lands
- - 11–12 ramp — Arcane Signet, Sol Ring, Fellwar Stone, mana rocks that fix four colors
- - 9 removal + 3 board wipes
- - 8–10 planeswalkers
- - 6–8 Empower / "Way of the ___" pieces
- - 5–6 proliferate enablers
- - 4 planeswalker protection
- - 2–3 win conditions
Mana Base Notes
Four colors is the deck's hardest ask. Prioritise fixing over raw land count: run every relevant dual and triple land, lean on rainbow lands and mana rocks, and don't be shy about 12+ pieces of ramp/fixing. The mana base guide covers the land package in depth.
How You Win
Superfriends closes games three ways: a planeswalker ultimate emblem that snowballs out of reach, a wide token board (including a huge Jace token) that swings for lethal, or milling the table with a giant Jace token's activated abilities. Pick at least two of these and make sure your win condition is actually in the deck — the biggest superfriends trap is durdling with value and no finisher.
