Legendary Creature — Human Warlock Bard
Whenever Totentanz or another nontoken creature you control dies, create a 1/1 black Rat creature token with "This token can't block." {1}{B}: Target attacking Rat you control gains deathtouch until end of turn.
“Sacrifice outlet that spawns Rats and drains through creature death.”
Totentanz, Swarm Piper is a token generator that rewards you for losing creatures. Every time a nontoken creature dies—whether it's a disposable sacrifice or just combat attrition—you're rewarded with a 1/1 Rat token. This means you want a deck full of cheap creatures that don't mind dying. Think aristocrat effects: sacrifice outlets like Viscera Seer or Zulaport Cutthroat turn your dying creatures into value, and Totentanz turns that grief into a growing army of Rats.
Your game plan is to build a token swarm that can attack through almost anything. The secondary ability pumping your Rats with deathtouch is sneaky good—suddenly your token army becomes a serious evasion and removal tool. You'll fill your deck with creatures that have enter/exit effects (like Zulaport Cutthroat or Blood Artist), low-mana creatures to churn through, and sacrifice outlets. By turn 4 or 5, you'll have a respectable Rat army pressuring the table while your engines tick away.
You win by overwhelming opponents with token damage, draining them with aristocrat triggers, or grinding them out through repeated sacrifice cycles. It's a grindy, recursive strategy that gets better the longer the game goes—very much a "death by a thousand cuts" approach.

Skip pricey aristocrat tutors; use simple efficient creatures like Nested Shambler, Goblin Bombardment (budget), and Falkenrath Pit Fighter instead of premium sac outlets.
