Strategy
Selenia, the Cursed Heart is a life-swing engine that turns your gains into double gains while threatening opponents with a devastating curse on death. The core gameplan is to build a deck that capitalizes on lifelink creatures and life gain effects, leveraging Selenia's doubling ability to grow your life total into a resource. Once Selenia dies (whether naturally or by your own hand), you create Selenia's Curse, which flips the script on your opponent by doubling their life loss—turning their removal into a two-for-one advantage while you're already ahead on life.
Your win conditions are typically combat damage backed by a life total cushion, or creating enough pressure that opponents can't deal with both you and the curse simultaneously. The deck plays a midrange game where you're accelerating into Selenia, protecting her, and filling the deck with lifelink creatures, life gain payoffs, and ways to self-sacrifice her for value. Cards like Zulaport Cutthroat and Blood Artist punish opponents while the curse amplifies their downside, and cards like Lich's Mastery or Platinum Emperion help you abuse the doubled life loss your opponents experience.
This isn't a pure combo deck—it's a grinding, value-based strategy where you're always trading small advantages into overwhelming ones. The threat of the curse hanging over opponents' heads changes how they play removal and combat, giving you psychological leverage alongside raw card advantage.
