Mikaeus, the Unhallowed is a recursion engine that turns your creatures into pseudo-immortal threats. The undying ability on your non-Humans means they can die and come back repeatedly, generating value each time. This is especially potent with creatures that trigger on death (like Blood Artist or Zulaport Cutthroat) or enter effects, turning a single creature into an endless loop of damage and card advantage.
Your deck wants to fill the battlefield with expendable creatures—tokens, cheap ETB creatures, and sacrifice outlets. Cards like Viscera Seer, Ashnod's Altar, and Phyrexian Altar let you intentionally sacrifice your creatures to squeeze maximum value from undying.
