Strategy
Locutus, the One Who Speaks is a compact artifact creature lord that rewards you for playing artifact creatures while offering a repeatable damage-and-lifegain outlet. The deck wants to assemble a board of cheap artifact creatures (especially Borg tokens and Spacecraft) that get a steady pump from Locutus, then grind value by discarding him repeatedly to ping opponents and stabilize your life total. You're not trying to win fast—instead, you're building a resilient, incremental advantage engine. Pair Locutus with token generators like Class-4 Tactical Cube or Antagonist Incorporator to flood the board, then use his discard mode as a repeatable source of pressure and life gain. The 'We Are the Borg' precon naturally supports this strategy with death-trigger payoffs and assimilation effects that keep refilling your hand and graveyard.
Your win condition is grinding through consistent artifact creature synergies and commander damage over time. Deep Space 9 and Borg Cube create huge threats that Locutus pumps, while Death Is Irrelevant locks down the board and assimilates graveyard fodder. Cards like Assimilate the Wounded and Assimilation Assessor turn your opponents' creatures into your artifacts, multiplying your lord's effect. The discard outlet keeps you engaged even when your board is stalled, and every activation reminds opponents you're whittling them down.
