Lieutenant Hikaru Sulu
Legendary Creature — Human Pilot
Whenever Lieutenant Sulu becomes tapped, he explores. (Reveal the top card of your library. Put that card into your hand if it's a land. Otherwise, put a +1/+1 counter on this creature, then put the card back or put it into your graveyard.) {2}{U}: Target creature can't be blocked this turn.

Strategy
Lieutenant Hikaru Sulu is a sneaky explore engine that rewards you for tapping him repeatedly. Every time he taps, he explores—either fetching a land into your hand or gaining a +1/+1 counter while filtering your library. You'll build around ways to tap him over and over: crewing Spacecraft, untap effects, tap-outlet abilities, or just swinging in and using his blue ability to make creatures unblockable. The explore triggers give you both card advantage (lands in hand) and a growing body, while his unblockable mode lets you push through evasion damage. You're basically playing a midrange deck that ramps into bigger plays while Sulu becomes a threat.
Your win condition is commander damage and creature combat swinging in for unblockable hits. You'll lean into the new Star Trek landfall and strange new worlds themes—playing lots of differently named lands to maximize explore triggers and land-based synergies. Cards that untap creatures, tap for value, or reward you for having lands in hand all make Sulu shine. Spacecraft with Station abilities and explore payoffs (like Colossal Clone Master or Branching Timeline) turn your land ramp into explosive turns.
