“Exile opponents' hands with every Spirit and Arcane spell you cast.”
Kyoki, Sanity's Eclipse is your engine for a discard-focused control deck that punishes opponents for holding cards. Every Spirit or Arcane spell you cast forces target opponents to exile cards from their hands, gradually emptying their resources and disrupting their game plans. This works especially well in Commander because opponents tend to hold multiple cards, and Kyoki turns your spell-slinging into a resource denial machine. You're not trying to kill fast—you're trying to cripple opponents' options until you can close out the game with your 6/4 flyer or a secondary win condition.
Build around cheap Spirit and Arcane spells that generate value independent of Kyoki. Cards like Soratami Cloudskater, Shaman's Trance, and Heartless Act give you repeatable triggers while advancing your gameplan. You'll lean on black's discard payoffs (Tinybones Trinket Thief, Necrogen Mists effects) to punish the exiled cards further. Kyoki also works well with tutoring and hand attack—if opponents have fewer cards, your discard and exile effects matter more. This is a medium-speed deck that grinds opponents out over the course of the game rather than racing them down.

Skip expensive Spirits like Yosei and use budget alternatives like Ashen Powder or Kinkemako Pixie; replace Snapcaster Mage with Garth One-Eye for repeatable triggers.
