Legendary Creature — Human Scientist
Science Teacher — Each Saga spell you cast has replicate. The replicate cost is equal to its mana cost. (When you cast that Saga, copy it for each time you paid its replicate cost. Copies of Saga spells become tokens.) Doctor's companion (You can have two commanders if the other is the Doctor.)
“Copy Sagas repeatedly for exponential value and board dominance.”
Ian Chesterton turns Saga spells into repeatable value engines by giving them replicate at no extra cost. Your game plan is to cast Sagas multiple times—both the original and its copies—to generate massive cumulative advantages. Each Saga activation triggers multiple times, whether you're drawing cards with Fabled Passage effects, creating tokens, tutoring, or grinding value. This creates a snowball effect where a single Saga becomes three or four, multiplying all the triggers.
The deck wins through a combination of incremental advantage and inevitability. You'll ramp into your Sagas quickly using white's ramp package, then start copying them to build toward either a board state full of tokens, card advantage that buries opponents, or simply overwhelming them with repeated effects. Ian is forgiving—you're not doing anything flashy, just playing good Sagas and letting them do the heavy lifting. The replicate mechanic means even modest Sagas become backbreaking when cast multiple times.

Use cheap Sagas like The Restoration of Eiganjo and Michiko's Reign of Truth; skip expensive tutors and play budget ramp like Wayfaring Temple or Marble Diamond instead of Mox.
