Legendary Creature — Badger Warrior
Trample When Hugs enters, exile the top X cards of your library. Until the end of your next turn, you may play those cards. You may play an additional land on each of your turns.
“Exile cards with Hugs, blink it repeatedly for value, and bury opponents in advantage.”
Hugs, Grisly Guardian is a ramping card-advantage engine that lets you play extra lands and cards from the top of your library. Every time Hugs enters the battlefield, you exile X cards and get a window to cast them—and with the extra land drop each turn, you'll have plenty of mana to leverage this advantage. The deck wants to abuse Hugs's enter trigger repeatedly through blink effects, sacrifice outlets, and bounce, turning each trigger into a mini-card draw and mana acceleration spell.
Build around making Hugs cheap to cast and protecting it while you assemble value. Ramp early so you can cast Hugs for a meaningful X value, then focus on flicker or bounce effects like Ephemerate, Soulherder, or even simple sacrifice loops. Once you're untapping with extra lands and exiled cards in hand, you'll have the resources to win through raw card advantage—either by grinding out value and swinging with a 5/5 trampler, or by assembling a combo line with your excess mana. The deck is naturally resilient since Hugs provides value even if it dies.

Skip expensive blinking staples like Soulherder and use budget alternatives: Ephemerate, Restoration Angel, and bounce spells like Soulkin or Unsummon.
