Strategy
Dr. McCoy is a modal reanimator engine in the command zone that rewards you for playing creatures with enter-the-battlefield effects and sacrifice outlets. Each time he enters (via flash, recurring plays, or blinks), you get to choose between recursion—fetching back any nonland permanent from your graveyard—or a delayed resurrection effect on a creature headed to the bin. This creates a grinding advantage over time: you're never truly down creatures, and you can chain ETB triggers with cards that blink or recur McCoy himself.
The deck wants to lean into green's strengths: cheap creatures with ETB effects, sacrifice synergies, and landfall triggers that create repeated reanimation loops. You'll also love cost-reducers and haste enablers so your creatures can attack the turn they come back. Win by grinding out value and swinging with an ever-growing force of creatures, or by assembling a sacrifice combo if the stars align. McCoy's modal flexibility means you always have an answer—grab what you need from the graveyard when you're short on gas, or protect your creature while getting a free recast next turn.

Budget Build
Skip pricey fetch lands and play Cultivate, Kodama's Reach, and basic land ramp; substitute Viscera Seer or Ashnod's Altar for pricey sacrifice outlets like Phyrexian Tower.
