Strategy
Data, New Life is a simple yet elegant card-draw engine that rewards you for literally playing Magic. Every card you draw puts a +1/+1 counter on Data, turning him into a growing threat that scales throughout the game. The deck wants to lean into card draw—both incidental and intentional—so that Data balloons into a respectable clock while you're doing what blue decks do anyway. You're not trying to combo off or generate crazy value; you're just synergizing draw with a cheap, durable body that punishes opponents for letting you untap with him.
Win via combat damage is the primary route: Data becomes a 5/6 or 6/7 flyer after a few turns of normal play, and the counters keep stacking. The deck runs cheap draw effects, cantrips, and wheel effects to ensure steady growth. You'll also slip in some evasion and protection to keep Data safe and swinging. With proper sequencing, Data turns into a genuine threat without needing to be the focus of every spell you cast.
