Strategy
Dal R'El is a landfall engine that ramps and draws cards simultaneously. Every land you play triggers mana generation, letting you build explosive turns while having an escape valve to sacrifice lands for cards when you're flooded. The deck wants to pack a landfall-heavy suite with cards that reward playing extra lands each turn—think Tireless Tracker, Omnath Locus of Creation, and the new Strange new worlds creatures that scale with land diversity. You'll generate tons of mana and card advantage, then pivot to a midrange beatdown or use that mana for impactful spells.
The beauty of Dal R'El is flexibility: you can go aggressive with landfall payoffs (tokens, counters, drain effects), play a grind game with card draw, or build toward a big mana turn with ramp spells like Cultivate and Kodama's Reach. The new Star Trek set offers excellent Strange new worlds payoffs like Excalbian Gamemaster and Colossal Clone Master that get better the more uniquely named lands you run, synergizing perfectly with Dal R'El's landfall triggers.
