Commander Spock
Legendary Creature — Vulcan Human Scientist
Strange new worlds — Whenever Commander Spock enters or attacks, reveal the top card of your library. You may cast that card without paying its mana cost if that spell's mana value is equal to or less than the number of differently named lands you control. If it's a land card, you may put it onto the battlefield tapped. If that card is still on top of your library, draw a card.

Strategy
Commander Spock is all about assembling a diverse manabase of differently named lands and turning that into raw card advantage and tempo. Every time Spock enters or attacks, you're cracking the top of your library—if you've got enough land variety, you cast spells for free and draw cards in the process. This creates a snowball effect where you ramp into bigger plays while filling your hand. The deck wants to play a ton of unique nonbasic lands (especially the new Planet cycle) alongside staple utility lands, then leverage that land count to power Spock's triggers and unlock Strange new worlds effects from other cards in your deck. You win through a combination of free spell value, token generation from cards like Excalbian Gamemaster, and eventually overwhelming opponents with a mix of combat damage and card advantage.

Key Synergies
Budget Build
Skip pricey dual lands like Scalding Tarn; instead stack cheap dual lands and basic lands alongside the new Planet cards to hit land variety thresholds—budget shocks and filter lands do the job fine.
