Captain Jean-Luc Picard
Legendary Creature — Human Officer
Other creatures you control get +1/+1. Whenever you cast a creature or Spacecraft spell, create a 1/1 red Officer creature token. Tap seven untapped Officers you control: Search your library for a Spacecraft card, put it onto the battlefield with seven charge counters on it, then shuffle.

Strategy
Captain Jean-Luc Picard is all about building a growing army of 1/1 red Officer tokens while pumping your entire team with a lord effect. Every time you cast a creature or Spacecraft, you're adding a body to the board and turning on Picard's anthem ability—this creates a snowball effect where your team gets bigger and your token generation accelerates. The deck's unique angle is the tap-seven-Officers payoff: you're working toward casting a Spacecraft directly from your library with seven charge counters, effectively cheating out powerful legendary artifact creatures that scale the game in your favor.
The core gameplan is straightforward but satisfying: play mana dorks and small creatures early, cast Spacecraft spells on a curve (many enter with charge counters already and trigger Picard), generate tokens as you go, and use the anthem to turn your wide board into a meaningful threat. Your tokens feed both your offense and your tap ability, creating a virtuous loop. You win through a combination of commander damage from a pumped Picard, combat damage from your token army, and late-game Spacecraft creatures that dominate the board. This is a tempo-focused midrange deck that feels like you're commanding a Federation fleet.

Budget Build
Use cheap token generators like Assemble the Legion or Bitterblossom in place of pricey Spacecraft; ramp with Cultivate and Nature's Lore instead of tutors.
