Legendary Creature — Human Citizen
Whenever another creature you control enters, you gain 1 life. If it's a Spider, put a +1/+1 counter on it.
“Tiny lifegain engine that rewards creature tokens and Spiders.”
Aunt May is a humble lifegain engine that rewards you for playing creatures, especially Spiders. She's cheap, stays on the board, and generates value every time a creature enters—which means tokens, ETB effects, and blink strategies all feed her. The core gameplan is to build a wide board of creatures (Spiders preferred for the counter bonus) while accumulating life as a secondary resource. You're not trying to kill opponents with her directly; instead, you're assembling a growing army that becomes harder to race while you're gaining life to stabilize.
This deck works best in a token or creature-focused shell where you're generating multiple bodies per turn. Think small utility creatures, token generators, and effects that let creatures enter repeatedly. The lifegain keeps you healthy while your board grows, and if you're playing Spiders specifically, they get pumped as a bonus. You can also pair her with blink effects to trigger her ability multiple times in a single turn, turning something like Ephemerate into a pseudo-combo piece. The win is usually just combat damage from a swarm of creatures, but the incidental lifegain makes you a poor target early on.

Use budget token generators like Dragon's Egg and Doomed Traveler instead of pricey lords; Ephemerate and Soulherder are cheap ways to blink creatures repeatedly.
