Legendary Creature — Human Avatar Ally
Aang has vigilance as long as there's a Lesson card in your graveyard. Whenever another creature you control dies, put a +1/+1 counter on Aang.

“Grow Aang with creature deaths while Lessons provide vigilance, tutoring, and value.”
Aang, A Lot to Learn is a growing threat that rewards you for running Lessons (a unique enchantment subtype) while turning creature deaths into incremental power boosts. Your gameplan is to build a defensive midrange deck that incidentally grows Aang into a serious threat over the course of the game. Early on, you'll cycle Lessons to trigger Aang's vigilance keyword, letting him attack without tapping out. Then you fill your deck with token generators, sacrifice outlets, and small creatures that naturally die—each death feeds Aang a counter.
The deck wants to establish a board presence with token makers like Bitterblossom or Prossh, Skyraider of Kher, then sacrifice them for value (tutoring lessons via Saga Enchantments, drawing cards, or draining opponents). Aang becomes a 10/10 vigilant beater while you've already gained mileage from those creatures. You can also use fight effects and wraths strategically to grow Aang while removing threats. The Lessons package gives you tutoring, creature removal, and lifegain all rolled into a cohesive toolbox.
Wins come through commander damage as Aang snowballs, token swarm from your sacrifice engines, or grinding opponents out with lifegain from lessons and repeated sacrifice triggers. It's a tempo-friendly shell that doesn't require infinite combos but rewards tight sequencing and knowing when to pivot from defense to offense.

Skip pricey tutors like Enlightened Tutor; use cheap self-mill (Stitcher's Supplier) and ramp (Cultivate, Kodama's Reach) instead. Basic token makers like Bitterblossom and Lingering Souls do heavy lifting on a budget.
